Kids

New Kensington Dental Associates, as per ADA guidelines, recommends that your child should be seen by a dentist by age two and be seen in 6 month intervals thereafter.

The first visit should consist of x-rays, cleaning and fluoride treatment by a qualified hygienist, and exam by a licensed dentist, where the Dr. Cerminara will determine if your child has any cavities and will require additional appointments.

Boy Brushing his teeth. It is also important to have sealants placed on the child’s first permanent molars.   Sealants seal the nooks and crannies on the biting surfaces of these teeth and drastically reduce cavities on these areas of the teeth.   Later the premolars and second permanent molars appear and will require sealing when they erupt into the mouth.
